Ramunda Lark Young is The Connection Strategist and Chief Encouragement Officer of Ramunda Young, Inc., an organization dedicated to Encouraging Extraordinary Women to SOAR – Surpass Obstacles and Rise! Built on the principal that leaders can exceed beyond their expectations when given the proper tools, Young has dedicated her life to equipping women for success.
Throughout her career, she worked as a Community Relations professional for almost a decade and is skilled at building authentic business connections that generate revenue. While working at a Fortune 500 company, Young garnered sales of more than a quarter million dollars each fiscal year and won numerous awards which highlighted her relationships with local organizations in the community.
She is passionate about teaching entrepreneurs the gift of authentic connections and recently launched Ramunda Young, Inc. Her powerful SOAR Sessions and workshops help entrepreneurs, leaders and professionals turn contacts into contracts! Young is on a mission to arm entrepreneurs with tools to SOAR in life and beyond while creating dynamic personal networks, professional relationships that increase sales and self-confidence along the way.
Her passion for strengthening women began in college when she founded the Langston University Section of the National Council of Negro Women, LU NCNW. For years, Young has been engaged in connecting successful women and identifying strategies that allow them to authentically live out loud in every facet of their lives.
Young is also co-founder and VP of Community Relations for MahoganyBooks, an online African-American bookstore based in the Washington, DC area that she founded with her husband Derrick. MahoganyBooks continues to be the premier online destination for black books and has hosted book signings throughout the DC region with such authors as Iyanla Vanzant, Russell Simmons, Misty Copeland, Congressman John Lewis and many others (www.MahoganyBooks.com).

With Young at the helm of strategic partnerships, MahoganyBooks is now nationally known among bestselling authors, celebrity writers, community leaders and others.

Young is also a dedicated community leader. She was appointed Commissioner of the Prince William County Human Rights Commission where she was recently named Commissioner of the Year and serves as a director on several boards including Virginia Leadership Institute, Manassas City Schools Education Foundation, Leadership Prince William Board of Regents, Prince William Chamber Education & Innovation Vice Chair, Hispanic Organization for Leadership and Action, Brown Virginia and others. She was named one of five Top Influential Women in Prince William County by Prince William Living Magazine in 2016, Potomac Local’s Top 40 Under 40 (2014) and Virginia Leadership Top 10 Under 40 (2014). She is a proud socialpreneur and sought out speaker of literacy, community involvement and women in business. She proudly lives with her husband/business partner Derrick and their daughter.
